Since these are so difficult to find in stores, you all asked me to create a copycat version, so here it is. HOMEMADE BLACKENED CHICKEN STRIPS. But caution: while they are so extremely delicious, these pack on the heat. I paired it with my homemade spicy ranch, to cool it down a bit, without removing the heat flavor.
Loving this recipe? Then you have to try out my jerk chicken strips with BBQ sauce.
Homemade Blackened Chicken Strips
about 1.5-2 tenders per serving
Ingredients
Tenders
- 16 ounces chicken tenderloins about 6-7 pieces
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon onion powder
- ⅛ teaspoon ground red pepper
Spicy Ranch
- ¼ cup plain, nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Ranch seasoning
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅛ teaspoon red pepper
Instructions
Tenders
- Place all seasonings in a small container and stir together to evenly combine
- Set chicken tenderloins out on a dish or clean surface. Sprinkle each side evenly with the seasonings mix, as much or as little as you want, remember this is a SPICY dish
- Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees. Place seasoned tenders in your air fryer and air fry for 1 minute. Spray with cooking spray then air fry for another 4 minutes. Flip chicken over, spray with cooking spray again, then air fry for another 5-7 minutes, until fully cooked
- Or you can bake the chicken in the oven at 450 degrees. Bake on a greased baking tray for 12-15 minutes, or until fully cooked. Flip and spray the chicken with cooking spray halfway
Spicy Ranch
- Combine all ingredients in a small container and store in the fridge while the chicken cooks to allow the flavors to form together
